Sr. Adult Ministry
The senior adults of First Baptist are committed to ministering to those around them. The Great Commission is both timeless and ageless. Many people think that there is some magical age at which one retires—even from Christian service. Generations of senior adults have a history of mobilizing to get the job done. Why would they stop just because they become older? If anything, becoming older is more of a reason to stay faithful to the mission - The Great Commission. Our senior adult ministry involves older adults in ministering to others, making disciples and growing believers. The following are some of the ongoing ministry opportunities and activities available for our senior adults:
Activities - November
On Nov 14th, 2016, a group of 26 senior adults traveled to Blue Ridge, Ga. where they boarded a nostalgic train for a scenic ride to McKaysville, Ga and Copperhill Tenn. They enjoyed lunch, then visited local shops while enjoying a leisure day of sight seeing. Upon their return, they visited the local market, purchasing delicious apple pies & returning home with bags of apples and pastries. Click here to see a video!
Seniors traveled to Gadsden on Nov 15th to see the inspiring movie of hometown hero, Desmond Doss, "Hacksaw Ridge." They enjoyed fellowship & lunch on the return trip.
